Grandparent’s Rights

A lot of grandparents don’t realise that they have rights to see their grandchildren when their child’s marriage breaks down. All too often unfortunately, whether it be through spite / revenge or breakdown of communications, grandparents whether intentionally or otherwise, are denied contact to their grandchildren. This can be most distressing, not only for the grandparents but also for the children as well. Indeed, psychologists are firmly of the view that maintaining a healthy relationship with both sets of grandparents is very helpful and conducive to a child’s emotional development.
