Otis Doan is our Wellbeing Officer. She is a passionate wellbeing officer dedicated to nurturing staff wellbeing. Otis is experienced in designing and implementing programs that foster positivity and resilience and she is committed to creating a supportive environment where individuals can thrive.

Maria is an experienced paralegal with over 20 years’ experience working in the legal industry. She is adept at legal research, case management, and document preparation. Maria is proficient in supporting our Lawyers with a detail-oriented approach and excellent organisational skills. She is dedicated to delivering efficient and precise legal support to ensure optimal client outcomes. Having worked for large corporations and small family run businesses, Maria has an excellent understanding of all our client’s needs and expectations.

Kathy has been practicing as a lawyer since 2003 in most areas of law. She has acquired a wide range of knowledge and experience, regularly appearing as an advocate in Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, Federal Magistrates Court and Local Courts. Kathy is competent, reliable and a committed member of our team. She is committed to adopting a common sense approach to ensure that matters are conducted professionally, efficiently and economically. Her areas of expertise are Family, Property, Wills and Estates and Commercial law.

Kathy is proud of her Iranian heritage. She is fluent in her native Farsi language and is deeply embedded in and highly respected in the local Iranian community.

 

Alana is our Conveyancing Manager and is responsible for our residential and commercial conveyancing. Alana has a strong background in Conveyancing and Property Transaction spanning over 18 years in the industry. She is experienced with PEXA Settlements and in particular property transfers.

She has demonstrated experience working for prominent firms in Queensland. With excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, she ensures our clients receive the best service.

Shauna is our receptionist and has been working in the legal industry for over 30 years. She is here to answer any queries you may have to make your experience comfortable and smooth.

Kim manages the Notary division of the Firm. She has diverse experience working within the legal industry. Kim spent many years successfully running her own real estate business and brings a balanced perspective and invaluable insight to our firm and conveyancing department.

Jessica Faull is our Practice Manager. She has a wealth of experience in practice management and overseas the management of the Firm. Jessica, is a local girl and is an integral part of the Firm. She has demonstrated experience implementing technology and projects within small and large organisations.

Louisa was introduced to the legal profession in 2015 while working as a law clerk in the Southport Magistrates Court. She completed her law degree at Griffith University and postgraduate Diploma of Legal Practice at Bond University on the Gold Coast. Louisa was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2018 after serving her articles with a prominent Southport firm. Louisa enjoys contributing to the community and volunteers as treasurer of a local domestic violence refuge.

Louisa believes she has found her niche in the elder law sphere. She enjoys all aspects of the law whether it be drafting wills, enduring powers of attorney, estate planning or estate administration.

Adele began her career in the legal industry over 30 years ago as a legal assistant and later returned to study and qualify as a Solicitor, graduating with dual degrees, a Bachelor of Laws (with first class honours) and a Bachelor of Business.

Adele also has a Master of Laws (Applied) majoring in Wills and Estates and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.

Adele handles estate planning from the basic “mum & dad” client through to complicated and complex multi-million dollar estates and regardless of the size of the estate every client receives the benefit of her expertise and experience.

Michael is a senior, well regarded lawyer. Michael is admitted as a solicitor ​of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the Supreme Court of New South Wales. He is entered on the Register of Practitioners of the High Court of Australia. He was admitted as a solicitor in Queensland in 1978 after serving his articles with a prominent Brisbane CBD firm. He remained there until 1991 when he moved to the Gold Coast to take up a senior position with a prominent Southport firm. In over 40 years in practice, Michael has gained wide experience focusing on disputes and dispute resolution including litigation.

John established McLaughlin & Associates Lawyers in 1972. Over the years, the firm has won numerous awards and has been inducted into the Chamber of Commerce’s Hall of Fame.

Dominic Doan is a well-respected Solicitor with demonstrated experience in property and commercial law. Dominic is most recognised for his knowledge of retirement village law and master plan projects. He has been involved in large aquaculture business sales and complex business transactions. He has an understanding of where commercial sense and legal knowledge intersect to provide the best outcomes to clients.

Dominic’s main practice area is commercial, property and retirement law. Dominic is admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland and is also on the roll of practitioners with the High Court of Australia.
